Largest Roundabout South Hemisphere Roundabout VR New Zealand
Mount Cook, Wellington 6021, New Zealand
We've went to the official lovers of roundabouts to find some of the largest roundabouts in the world and the largest roundabout of the Southern Hemisphere is infact a cricket ground in New Zealand
The Basin, which is circled by about 50,000 cars each day, has caught the eye of the United Kingdom Roundabout Appreciation Society, which wants to immortalise it in its first Roundabouts of the World calendar.

It has been pencilled in as October's roundabout, joining such esteemed sites as the treacherous 'Magic Roundabout' in Swindon, England, which is an elaborate system of six roundabouts, and the world's smelliest roundabout, in Australia, which doubles as a horse-manure stand.

It appears The United Kingdom Roundabout Appreciation Society made this all happen
Speaking from the society's headquarters in Redditch, central England, president Kevin Beresford, aka The Lord of the Rings, said October had been promised to a New Zealand roundabout. The Basin was the frontrunner.
He suspected Kiwis did not fully appreciate how renowned the Basin Reserve was in international roundabout circles.

Beresford and 29 others - his Knights of the Roundabout Table - formed the society back in 2003 after they produced a Roundabouts of Redditch calendar as "a bit of a joke". It proved surprisingly popular.
"It's quite unique. I thought I'd seen everything when it came to roundabouts, but I've never seen a cricket ground in the middle of one. I would say it's the largest roundabout in the southern hemisphere."
Round Abouts Of Britain
Rather than focusing on well-known roundabouts, such as the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, Beresford said the calendar would show off some of the world's lesser-known gems. Among those was a bizarre roundabout from India, where cars travelled around a military tank and a live cow, as well as a "menacing" one in Nigeria where police rushed out from the centre to demand bribes from anyone who looked European.
