These ships were hi-tech military equipment at the time with nobility to lay claim before the monarch sent the military soon to follow many would die by diseases from European flu spores than actual battle. However rifle battles were primarily between traitorous ex-military pirates. These were the types of ships ex-military pirates would steal so reenactments of these ships are really neat and enjoyable for history buffs as aye.

The so-called Nau Capitânia is a replica of a 15th century Portuguese caravel, built at the Aratu Naval Base in Brazil, by Ralph Nicholson for the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Discovery on April 22, 2000 in Porto Seguro, Bahia. The project to build a replica of Pedro Álvares Cabral's vessel to make a trip between Salvador and Santa Cruz de Cabrália was conceived by a group of Brazilian businessmen, who obtained, at the time, a grant of four million reais from the Federal Government. . Technical errors in its construction caused the vessel to present a series of problems, not being able to navigate in time to participate in the celebrations (only managed to do so four months later).
