Renovation works were still in progress at the time of the eruption in 79 AD as evidenced by the presence of unpainted plaster on the walls of various rooms.

The lararium, which is a small aedicula, is found in the atrium, intended for domestic worship, where six bronze statues of protective deities of the house were found.
