From the outside of the building, you can see a marvellous floor mosaic in the entrance hallway, which depicts a fighting scene with two bare-handed athletes facing each other. Arguably one of the world's oldest intact competitive gyms or world's oldest competition gym. During the roman era violent sport was the appetite during that era but it appears the citizens of Pompeii were far more interested in a far more peaceful way of sport.
